The Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) and Washington State Department of Health (DOH) are working to make the State Revolving Funds more accessible for Tribes to support efforts to improve or protect water quality. Ecology and DOH are interested in learning more about the funding sources your Tribe utilizes, potential barriers in accessing funding, and how data is shared to support funding applications.
The Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds provide low-cost financing for water quality and drinking water infrastructure projects. Funding offers may include subsidy for small or economically distressed communities, including forgivable principal loans, grants, and/or reduced interest rates. As part of the process to award subsidy, Ecology and DOH rely on financial data for the communities or populations served by the project(s), such as median household income, annual utility costs, and cost of service per user or user utility rates.
